Sunday – Practice Test Day

Today ended up being the first Practice Test Day for my GMAT class I am taking through the Princeton Review. It is being used as our baseline for their “80 point increase Guarantee”. I have been flirting around with the idea of getting an MBA ever since I graduated university almost 7 years ago. With a rumor recession on the way, I figured now would be a good time to start studying for it. Getting an MBA will help open more doors for me later on, allowing a larger option of opportunity.

For this baseline test, I did not really study at all. I was studying a little bit back in March, but really feel of in April & May when I needed to focus harder on running for my halfs, and finishing up my Eras Tour outfits. My overall score was a 550 which is right around average. I ended up with a 32 in Quantitative and a 33 in Verbal. Based on the training plan, this means I should focus more on practicing the Easy-Medium questions in Quantitative and the Medium-Hard questions in Verbal. I am hoping that now that I am reading/blogging again, it will help me with the verbal section.

Monday – Easy Run

I am so far behind on my mother’s Eras Tour outfit. I am in a real Tim Gunn “make it work” crunch. I didn’t get another chance to have a third fitting with her so I am really hoping this one works and it will fit her. I finished up sewing the top before my run. Then reluctantly, went out to get my 6 miles in. I left the house at 7pm which was kinda late, but the perfect weather in the Summer. Mornings are normally too humid now so evenings runs are the way to go. During the run, I finished listening to An Honest Truth by Tarryn Fisher.

I did take Friday and Saturday off from running to celebrate my anniversary; but I felt great during the run. I was able to maintain the new “recommend” Easy Run pace from RunCoach. My training plan updated after the Bayshore Half Marathon. However, based on my heartrate, I was in my threshold zone more than my Aerobic Zone, so I may need to still run closer to the 11:00min pace. However, I did throw in 4 strides in the last mile (which I ran in 9:43) so that def brought my heart rate up.

After the run, I finished Bedazzling one of the legs for my mom’s outfit and most of the bodice.

Tuesday – Rest Day

Just a day of finishing up my mother’s Eras Tour Outfit. The show is on FRIDAY!!!!! And I still need to sew all the components together, make a belt, make straps, and then fill in the bedazzling gaps around the seams. #MakeitWork

Wednesday – Paramore Concert/National Running Day

It is National Running Day! And I wanted to make sure that I got some run in so I could get my Garmin badge. I decided on squeezing in a 5k before the Paramore Concert.

During the first mile, I actually found a stray dog named Baxter – scared little one-eye Pomeranian (that was shaved down). Thankfully, his collar had his address and after I was able to corner and catch him; I got him back home Turns out Baxter’s Grandpa was dog sitting while fixing his daughters fence.

Thursday – Six: The Musical

Didn’t have time to squeeze in a run before Six because I had to pack my bag to stay downtown.

Friday – Long Run/Taylor Swift Concert

Knowing I wouldn’t get a run in tomorrow based on how I felt last Taylor Concert, I attempted my long run today. I was suppose to go 11 miles but only made it 9.5 cause 1) air quality and 2) time. But I had a great run up by Ford Field, up to Wayne State, then along the Detroit Riverside to the Dequinder Cut (which is where I turned around early).

Saturday – GMAT Class

I am so exhausted after staying up late 4 nights in a row….
