Sunday – Cross Training: Taylor Swift Concert
Let’s be honest….the whole time at the Taylor Swift Tailgate/Concert should count as cross training. I spent the first 6 hours in (very comfy) high heels, then switched to crocs when the openers started and stayed in those for the rest of night. Either way, it was still a lot of stress on my legs, especially after running 24 miles the past week (I think this was my first full week at hitting 25 miles in a WHILE….well other than my marathon in October).
Monday – Rest Day
I wouldn’t say I am hungover. I only had one beer at the concert; but I am no longer 21 years old, and staying out until 1am, packing until 2am, and waking up at 6 for my flight had made me exhausted. My whole body is sore from the fun of the weekend. Thus, again I will be moving my run to Tuesday.
Tuesday – Rest Day
Yeah, we just didn’t end up running yesterday. I got home from work and the weather turned V HARD into a storm. Oh well! I am tampering anyway so an extra day of rest after a solid workout last week isn’t the end of the world.
Wednesday – Cross Training: Golf League
It is the best day of the week! Golf League Day!
Today was another day of resetting our handicaps. Our tee time was 4:12, but G did not think he was going to make it on time because he had a last minute in-person meeting at 4. Since this wasn’t tournament play, he decided he didn’t want a sub, so he ended up showing up by the time we were starting the 4th hole. My new Garmin Approach S42 had arrived and I was super pumped to try it out today! The results are pretty cool. For the clubs I had sensors on, the Garmin detected them and then would record the distance between swings. Right now I only have three sensors and I put them on my Driver, 7 iron, and Sand Wedge. I am already interested in getting another pack so I could put them on my putter, pitching wedge and 5 hybrid.

Thursday – Threshold

Boy was I not feeling well today, but I still got out and did my run despite it. Since I took the Monday/Tuesday run off, I wanted to get slightly more mileage today. Made the Warm Up and Cool down jogs 1.25 miles instead of only 1 mile.
For the warm-up, I did bring Wallace with me so he can get some of his energy out. However, I think the poor boy now has kennel cough so no more running for him until he is done honking. He did poop during the run as it was after his dinner so it worked out well that I could run him back to the house and drop the poop bag off.
For the Threshold runs, I ran much faster than the suggest threshold (haha oops). First threshold mile was a 9:49/mile pace. I felt great during the whole thing. Started off faster and tried slowing down to be closer to the RunCoach pace. For the second mile, I ran it in a 9:24.7/mile and again, it felt easy and was enjoyable to do. I thought I was running slower than the first one, but then decided to just go for it – especially since I didn’t do the speed workout this week.

Friday – Easy Run
Today’s run happened, but was pretty sad. All morning, the weather looked phenomenal. Then, as soon as I got in my car to head home from work; it began to rain.
It wasn’t an ugly heavy downpour rain, and there wasn’t any thunder or lightening. So, after mentally prepping myself that this is what I signed up for when I got rid of my gym membership to save some money, I got dressed and headed out.

Saturday – Long Run
After yesterday’s run, I was feeling really good about today’s. I cleaned my kitchen until 10am, then headed out. Today I just did one out and back because although it wasn’t raining, it looked like it could start any second.
Changed up my fuel plan today as well. Instead of drinking every 5 minutes, I switched to every 10 minutes to see how it would good. Thankfully, no major issues.
I also finished Sparks like Stars during this run so a super successful day overall.
